Weddings, newborns and a bit of crazy………

Well, its been a pretty busy week with weddings, Bonanza weekends and trying to get our lovely new studio ready…………….. But being the trooper I am, I have taken it on with style, grace and a sense of calm………………NOT!!!!

Lets start with the wedding………… Portaferry, beautiful place, but very windy.  Our stunning bride Caroline lives out in the country (which we found so easily, with no panic, fast driving or cursing of any description).  The views from her house were so beautiful I had to get her dressed and photographed in the garden before the bridesmaids had a chance to take their labels off.

After the service (apologies to the congregation for the car alarm….. No idea whose dodgy people carrier that was), we headed up to a very windy hill to take in some stunning views with just Brendan and Caroline.  Caroline was a fantastic bride as well as being beautiful, she was friendly relaxed and up for anything, and I must take the time to thank her for keeping her veil on, just so I could get some “windy Veil shoots”, I apologise now for any head trauma caused.  I must also put in a good word for Brendan, who was a true gentleman and went along with all my weird and crazy suggestions.

A quick visit to Blackie (carolines beautiful black-beauty lookalike) and it was onto the Slieve, where we battled against the windy elements to get group shoots taken on the stunning green in the Slieve.

After editing (and recovering from the wedding), I had the pleasure of beautiful baby Maisie, who totally melted my heart (and didn’t poo in my studio).  I had photographed Derva and Gavins wedding last year, and the craic was 90, so it was lovely to get to meet their latest creation, who was beautiful, well behaved and everything that a newborn should be.

Now onto my new studio….. Anyone who has had the pleasure of visiting my wonderful studio on the Tullybrannigan Road, has always been pleasantly surprised by the lovely spacious interior (granted that it looks like an school classroom from the outside), but over the winter we have had a few leaks and so, rather than fix them, we have upped sticks and moved down to Sunnyholme Caravan Park on the Castlewellan Road, we felt the location was better and having a bricked building which didn’t look like a classroom was an added bonus.

But after feeling it was never going to happen I am now almost ready to move in…………..arrrrggghhh!!!!!! there is so many things to do, and anyone who knows me, knows how organised, poised and ready for action I am………….NOT!!!!, it has been a real leap of faith trying to pick wallpapers, floors, paint colour and my laid back attitude does not help.  Favourite quote of both Ramona and I “Sure it will be grand”………………… We don’t like to think about things too much, so this week has been a real drain…………. On the painters, carpenters and anyone else who has had the displeasure of working with two laid back clampits, who have no idea what they want……. But the end result shall be unveiled soon and…….. well there are no leaks……….yet.

Now how I am going to get all my gear shifted is another matter.  My wonderful “backdrop on wheels” which has been fantastic for all my real makeover shoots, was built in the studio…….soooo, I can’t get it OUT of the old studio, never mind getting it into the new one.  But sure “It’ll be grand”……..
